Visual communications

Visual communication involves communicating messages, ides and information through visuals. Some examples include graphic designs, photos, drawings and paintings, typography, signage and colour.

The success of visual communications is measured by assessing the audience’s interpretation and comprehension of the messages.

The theory behind visual communications is that it has greater power than other forms of communication to persuade, influence, educate and inform its audiences because it provokes thought and emotional responses that are not as easily obtained, or not always possible, through day to day verbal and written communication.
