Learning Sets

Reputation is experienced at facilitating Learning Sets, which are small groups of key leaders, managers and professionals who meet on a regular basis to solve major organisational problems and to ensure the continual professional growth and development of members. They focus on real work, real people, real system issues and the synergy created by learning from each other can occur within or across industries.

Learning Sets are generally for the following groups:
  • Chief executives
  • Senior executives, policy makers and senior professionals
  • Next generation leaders
  • Cross industry groups of senior executives from different public and private organisations and industries

Members usually have similar roles and interests but come from different organisations to enable the sharing of confidential information.

The outcomes identified by members of Learning Sets include:
  • Improved leadership and managerial performance
  • Enhanced strategic issues resolution and planning
  • Prevention of professional isolation
  • Strong professional and personal peer support
  • Development of new ideas and mentoring
  • Accessing the knowledge and skills of other set members
  • Development of successful organisational change strategies
  • Development of strategies to manage the politics of the industry
  • Improved multidisciplinary networks
  • Cross-fertilisation of ideas, strategies and experience

The nature of Learning Sets are such that they provide career mentoring, are a learning organisation in their own right, provide high quality feedback to their members and upgrade members skills/capabilities/knowledge. They also philosophically fit with other learning and development initiatives such as development centres/assessment centres/succession planning/work experience/action research based executive and management development.

Learning Sets produce results that save time and money and accelerate the development of key individuals and teams in the system.
